Hypnosis for Depression
hypnosis for depression: What is Depression?
Depression is a state of sadness or apathy that lasts at least two weeks or more and is severe enough to affect your daily activities. The primary symptoms are a sad mood and a loss of interest in life. Formerly pleasurable activities are no longer appealing. Other symptoms can include a sense of guilt, anger, feelings of worthlessness, a lack of hope and even thoughts of death or suicide.
People with depression are more likely to attempt suicide. Some of the warning signs include frequently talking about death or suicide, threatening to do physical harm to other people, or engaging in risky and/or aggressive behaviors.
OTHER SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION CAN INCLUDE:
- Feeling tired, having low energy levels
- Insomnia
- Sleeping more than usual
- Unusual aches and pains
- Headaches
- Cramps or other digestive problems
- Appetite changes, weight loss or weight gain
- Increased severity of existing health problems
- Inability to concentrate
- Avoiding formerly pleasurable activities, including sex
- For those with chronic pain issues, depression can increase the severity of the pain.
The Good News About Depression
Depression can affect virtually every aspect of your life. But the good news is that it can be effectively treated with Hypnotherapy and NLP. I refer to Depression as “Anxiety turned upside down”. Although depression may appear to be the polar opposite of anxiety, the treatment protocol is very similar. Both Anxiety and Depression are caused by a person’s thoughts, beliefs and perspectives. These effect every cell in your body! When you modify the thoughts, beliefs and perspectives, the troublesome emotions and feelings will change as well. They’re interconnected.
Hypnosis for depression: Depression and Brain Chemistry
Brain chemistry does seem to be a key component when it comes to depression. In mainstream medicine it’s a common practice to prescribe medications that alter brain chemistry. Medications can definitely be effective, but the downside is that you can become dependent upon them, both physically and psychologically. At that point, the “treatment” becomes more of a maintenance program – instead of a solution to the problem.
NLP Hypnotherapy and Brain Chemistry
When I perform an NLP or Hypnosis procedure on someone, the changes occur at the neurological level in their brain. That’s what the “N” in NLP stands for, Neuro. When you experience or learn something new, the brain automatically creates a new neurological “circuit” to accommodate that new information. It does this chemically. The new information I give a clients brain through hypnosis or NLP also creates a new chemical circuit, with no outside chemicals needed. That new circuit works contrary to the one causing depression, and neutralizes it!
hypnosis for depression: Get Blood Tests to Make Sure
Unless blood tests have shown that you are low on some chemical or nutrient, I believe your brain has all of the chemicals it needs. We just need to make it use them in a more non-depressive way. Hypnosis and NLP can help to do exactly that. In my opinion, this is the most natural, safe and effective way to alleviate depression.
